F.A.Q.

List of F.A.Q.'s about this site:

1.) System Backups?
-- Yes, but only for system recovery.

2.) Server Hardware?
-- At the time this was written the server was/is running raid 50.  (3 raid 5 sets striped across each other).
-- Please keep in mind that this will inevitably change as the demand for hardware inevitably increases over time.

3.) Privacy Policy? Read by clicking the link here.
-- The privacy policy is always posted on the bottom of the Home and Support page as well.

4.) Is the Data Encrypted? Yes.  All connections are hosted via https or ssh tunnels.
-- However, your actual files may or may not be encrypted.  We leave this as an optional choice.
Some may prefer to encrypt part of their backup and leave other parts unencrypted...it's up to you.
We provide the option to create encrypted "TrueCrypt" volumes by logging in via SSH.
These can be mounted using "SSHFS" and uploaded into to provide an extra secure storage location.
Or...if you prefer you can use "ENCFS" to create and mount an encrypted directory from the server.
Of course...as is intended...several other options exist for encrypting your data.

5.) Additional Security Measures?
-- The server is protected against Dictionary and Brute force attacks by
security software set to ban any IP address with repeated failed login attempts.  And of course the server is protected
by a hardware firewall as well.  Also, we make every reasonable attempt to keep software and security fixes as up
            to date as possible.

6.) Connection Speeds?
-- The Server is connected to the internet via "Ethernet Handoff" at a local datacenter.
Bandwidth capability will be adjusted over time as the server load increases.
At the time of this writing...5Mbps is provisioned to the server.

7.) Server Environment?
-- Battery backup and Generators are available via the hosting Datacenter.
Physical access to the server is controlled via prox card activated doors to the datacenter.
